Katy Wolaver is Vice President of A&R for Warner Chappell Music, the global music publishing arm of Warner Music Group. She started at the worldwide publisher in 2016 as Senior Director of A&R, working directly under Jon Platt, Katie Vinten, and Ryan Press and was promoted to her current position in early 2018. While at Warner/Chappell, Katy has signed multiple notable songwriters, including busbee (Pink’s “Try”) and Scott Harris (Shawn Mendes’ “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back” and the Chainsmoker’s “Don’t Let Me Down”).
Previously, Katy served as Director of A&R at SONGS Music Publishing alongside Ron Perry. At SONGs, she was responsible for not only signing and developing new talent, but also discovering new creative opportunities for the company’s existing roster, which included Brian Lee, Matt Thiessen, Dev and DJ Mustard. Katy got her start in the music industry in 2006 while working for Grammy-nominated songwriter Kara DioGuardi at Arthouse Entertainment. During her time at Arthouse, she had the opportunity to work with a vast array of writers and producers, including Jon Bellion, Mitch Allan and Ari Levine of The Smeezingtons. Throughout her career, she has worked on numerous top hits such as Flo Rida’s “Club Can’t Handle Me,” Demi Lovato’s “Heart Attack,” and Cobra Starship’s “Good Girls Go Bad.”
